Must NRA crews work during weekends?
Why does the NRA do roadwork on the weekends? A time when people are off of work and trying to do some errands or just to do something relaxing; seriously amazing.
Auntie’s answer: With work on roads seemingly everywhere and never ending in Cayman, I understand your frustration about your weekend peace being disrupted.
The National Roads Authority offered a few reasons for staff being on the road on Saturdays and Sundays. An official explained that the authority has limited crews which reduces the amount that can be accomplished during the week.
The weekend also offers an advantage for getting roadwork done. Even though people are out and about running their errands, the NRA official said the roads are “less chaotic” then so the crews are able to get more work done during that time.
The upshot is with drivers continuing to encounter various pieces of heavy equipment and dealing with detours every day of the week, I am not optimistic we can expect a relaxing time on the roads any time soon.
