Commitment to job drives top employee
(CNS Local Life): Darren Ebanks, fleet and stores manager with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), has been named the latest Chief Officer’s Choice by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Acting Chief Officer Kathryn Dinspel-Powell, amongst other ministry and RCIPS officials, presented the award to the civil servant for January 2017. Ebanks has worked for the RCIPS for more than six years.
In his current position, he maintains the entire fleet of vehicles for the RCIPS and is responsible for ensuring the organisation has safe and reliable vehicles for all logistic operations, in addition to uniforms and equipment.
RCIPS business manager Charmaine Moss nominated Ebanks for his performance on the job and commitment to serve the organisation, stated a government press release.
“Mr Ebanks is a hard-working and highly motivated employee, who acts with integrity and professionalism,” Moss said. “He has a passion for the job, and constantly motivates his peers to take on new challenges. His unwavering commitment to the RCIPS is a source of inspiration for others. Mr Ebanks is always enthusiastic, an excellent team player with a strong desire to impact positive change throughout the organisation.”
Dinspel-Powell added, “It’s a privilege to highlight the excellent work of a dedicated civil servant like Mr Ebanks. This recognition symbolises and reinforces the values and standards that I encourage all staff to exhibit on a daily basis. The ministry values the skills, knowledge and dedication that Mr Ebanks brings to his job.”
In expressing his gratitude for the recognition, Ebanks said, “I greatly appreciate being honoured for just doing my job. I would like to thank my team and all of my mentors within the RCIPS who teach me so much, and help me grow every day…I hope it will inspire others.”
