RBC nourishes Feed Our Future
(CNS Local Life): The non-profit Feed Our Future (FOF), whose mission is to alleviate childhood hunger in the Cayman Islands, recently received a healthy boost from a corporate donation. RBC Royal Bank presented the CAD10,000 cheque in keeping with its focus on charities that promote education, youth and the community. In explaining its mission, FOF cites research that points to hunger as a daily reality for many Caymanian students who aren’t getting enough to eat at home.
“Through funding a nutritionally balanced school lunch programme we provide children in need with reliable access to a healthy (meal),” said Stacey VanDevelde, chair of the FOF board. “This initiative helps to enrich the children’s learning potential and health while reducing the burden on the community.
“We greatly appreciate RBC’s confidence in the work we do in the Cayman community and support of Cayman’s children and future.”
Rolan Heeralal, RBC area vice president, business banking, said of the contribution: “This donation aligns with one of RBC’s pillars, community development. We know that any investment in our youth directly impacts our future. Within the Cayman community, we have a rich 50-plus-year legacy of supporting education and we intend to continue in that vein.”
