(CNS): The Cayman Islands Football Association recently hosted the CONCACAF D License Coaching Course, aimed at teaching participants the role of a coach educator, the principles of coaching, the teaching-learning process and age-appropriate training objectives and methodologies.

Lenny Lake, of St. Kitts and Nevis, taught the 16 participants, from 1-4 October at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.

CIFA acting president Bruce Blake said the association understands the importance of providing quality coaches at all levels of football on island. He added that the CONCACAF D License will provide young coaches with the proper foundation on which to build.

The next CONCACAF coaching course will be on goalkeeping, and is tentatively scheduled for 28-30 October 2015.
