Gas stations raise funds for Breast Cancer Foundation
(CNS Local Life): Two gas stations held a month-long campaign throughout October to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Customers were asked if they would “round up their bill” to donate funds to the Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF), and thousands of people answered the call, raising $6,849.40.
“Thank you very much. It was indeed a pleasure partnering with the Breast Cancer Foundation,” said Charmaine Bravo, of H & B Ltd Esso Stations, whose outlets on Shedden Road and West Bay Road took part.
Janette Fitzgerald, BCF chief administrator, said of the fundraising efforts, “We are so appreciative of Ian and Charmaine Bravo, their son Brandon, and Dorothy Harvey, as well as their wonderful staff at L & B Ltd Esso stations.”
BCF co-founder and board member Kim Lund, added, “This initiative proves that every little bit helps. The foundation would like to thank each and every person who rounded up their bill.”
