C&W launches Caribbean-wide sports network
(CNS): Cable & Wireless (C&W) launched its sports network, Flow Sports, this week, marking the arrival of the first Caribbean-based, region-wide high definition sports network. Flow’s TV customers can now access both local and international action.
“With Flow Sports, we are changing the game,” said John Reid, president of C&W’s consumer group, which operates both the Flow and LIME brands.
“Our goal is to be the number one destination for sports fans in the Caribbean. With our recently announced content partnerships – including 2016/17 Premier League football, CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, and the Rio Olympics – Flow Sports will offer our customers the best possible viewing experience of the content that they are truly passionate about.”
The 24/7 HD network has been purpose-built to deliver a world-class viewing experience. In addition to the best regional and international football, initial cricket programming will include home games of South Africa, the world’s best Test side; New Zealand home series; the Ram Slam T20 tournament; and the T20 Bangladesh Premier League.
Flow Sports offerings will also include exclusive regular season National Football League games, athletics, auto racing, Fed and Davis Cup tennis and rugby. In addition, Flow Sports will be C&W’s key broadcast platform for the Rio Olympics, and, from August 2016, Premier League football.
Flow Sports is broadcast from a newly constructed, state-of-the-art media facility in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The facility includes an HD studio, an industry-leading 4K-ready broadcast system, and unique remote broadcast capabilities. In the coming months, Flow will be expanding across mobile platforms via the Flow ToGo application.
“With Flow Sports we are also thrilled to be bringing investment, jobs, skills and training to the Caribbean,” Reid said. “The new network lets us showcase the very best of Flow and the new Cable & Wireless, and embodies our commitment to deliver world-class technology, content and, critically, a superior customer experience to the Caribbean.”
Sports fans can access the Flow Sports channel in Antigua, Barbados, The Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Curaçao, Grenada, Jamaica, St Vincent, St Lucia and Trinidad.
