(CNS Local Life): The Cayman Islands Kids Gaelic Football Club is celebrating St Patrick’s Day by hosting a free training and games session at the Cayman International School football pitch in Camana Bay on Saturday, 16 March. The event will include Gaelic football along with Irish-themed games and activities.

The session, running from 11am to 12:30pm, is open to all children aged between 6 and 14, of all abilities, with a “special warm welcome” to any beginners wanting to try the game, who will receive a free Kid’s Club jersey, the club said in a press release.

Following the kids’ event, the senior Gaelic Football Club will be hosting men’s and women’s games, plus other activities including a hurling exhibition, welly throwing and a tug of war.

There will also be an ice cream van, face painting and kick fada/poc fada (how far you can kick the football or hit the sliotar (ball) with a hurling stick).

Registration closes on Thursday, 14 March at 6pm.
