Large serving of Rundown soon come
(CNS): With rehearsals well underway, the cast and crew at the Cayman National Cultural Foundation are cooking up this year’s serving of ‘Rundown’. Having collected plenty of comic ingredients over the last year since the last amusing theatrical meal, local audiences can look forward to a hilarious portion next month when the curtain goes up at the Harquail Theatre on 12 May.
According to the CNCF, this 2016 annual comedy review features “a star studded local cast”, including entertainers who have become household names in Cayman. With no topic off limits — politics, religion, sports, media, “supermarketing”, fauna and flora, “happy” laws, ganja cures … and much more — audiences can at least hope to laugh off the indigestion. Rundown, now in its 24th year, is written, designed and directed by Henry Muttoo and is a much-anticipated tradition and indelible part of the landscape, like Easter camping and bush medicine.
“If you don’t know what or where the ‘Marl Road’ is or if you are trying to get the hang of things in Cayman, don’t miss it! If you are all too familiar with the Marl Road, cow itch, Tru Tru, Cock Crow and Mac, we know you’ll be back for another pain-a-belly this year,” said the CNCF.
Headlining the billboard this year is Matt Brown, no slacker when it comes to comedy, along with experienced performer Lesley-Ann Bernard, the talented Jevaughnie Ebanks, veteran stage and rundown star Leeroy Holness, as well as Priscilla Pouchie and Gisell Webb, who both know their way around a gag when they see it.
