Cayman students place 2nd at tourism competition
(CNS Local Life): Students from the Cayman Islands School of Hospitality Studies (SHS) earned second place in the annual Caribbean Student Colloquium as part of the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s (CTO) Caribbean Week events earlier this month in New York. SHS students submitted a business proposal for a sustainable Caymanian-themed village called Cocoplum.
Students lobby against single-use plastics
(CNS Local Life): In support of World Oceans Day, 8 June, Cayman schoolchildren delivered letters to Minister of the Environment Dwayne Seymour, urging the Cayman Islands Government to ban single-use plastics. The theme of World Ocean Day 2018 is “Preventing plastic pollution and encouraging solutions for a healthy ocean”.
