Bodden Town walking track almost complete
(CNS): Work is underway to construct and surface a new four-lane walking track at the Bodden Town Primary School, which will boost the school’s track programme and be used to supplement district track meets held by the Cayman Islands Athletic Association. With track and field being one of the Cayman Island’s focus areas, Sports Minister Osbourne Bodden believes the facility will serve as a tool to get more children involved in the sport, as well as general development of the national athletics programme.
The track will also benefit recreational walkers in the community and provide a safe and convenient place for residents to work out, according to a government release.
Expressing his pleasure at the progress of the project, Director of Sports Collin Anglin said, “The more we all exercise on a regular basis, the better our health and quality of life will be, while reducing the costs of healthcare.”
The track is scheduled to be completed in coming weeks. Work is being carried out by Public Works Department and Island Paving
