CNS Local Life(CNS Local Life): This year’s National Gallery fundraising gala is inspired by the fashion, flavours and glamour of 1930s Cuba, with guests invited to step into Old Havana. The event, set for 25 November at the Harquail Theatre, will include live performances, food, a rum lounge, cigar rollers, curios and dancing into the early hours to Son Cubano music, the roots of salsa.

There will be an auction, dance performance and drinks served by a champion bartender. Guests are encouraged to dress in vintage Cuban couture for the formal event. National Gallery staff and volunteers have created a Pinterest page of paseo runway-inspired looks.

Tickets for the evening cost $250, with 10-packs available at a discounted $2,250.

For more information and tickets, email the National Gallery or call 945-8111

We have created a new system to help us address questions we receive from the public for the press briefings. We are getting hundreds every day and it’s impossible to read and deal with them while the PB is in process as there are a lot of moving parts to being able to do the Zoom meeting, take notes and respond to their info in real time.

So we are asking people to send their questions each day BEFORE NOON to: covid-questions@caymannewsservice.com

This will give us a chance to read, sort and consolidate the questions so that we get to the issues that people are most concerned about.

Thanks for your help. In the meantime the ones you have sent will be sorted and collated.
