Miss Cayman Islands Monyque Brooks

(CNS Local Life): Monyque Brooks, the current Miss Cayman Islands, will be back on the pageant platform this month as she headed to the Philippines Monday, 9 January, for the 2017 Miss Universe competition, which is being staged in Manila. The 25-year-old from West Bay will begin the more than two weeks of pre-competition and qualifying events, photo shoots and public appearances on 14 January, hoping to secure a place in the 65th final of the international beauty contest, which will be broadcast on 29 January.

Having already competed in the Miss World pageant in December, Brooks is a little more experienced and knows what to expect when she goes up against around 85 other women. Although this may be a beauty pageant, Pia Wurtzbach, the reigning Miss Universe who is a native of the Philippines and one of the judges, said that she will be looking for a contestant who can cope with the job and commit to the role for the year-long reign.
