Labour official named top employee
(CNS Local Life): Leticia Goring has been name the Cayman Islands Government Employee of the Month for October for being most helpful and efficient when executing her duties as Assistant Director of Labour and Pensions (DLP). Employed within the Ministry of Human Resources and Immigration (HRI), she started her service as a research analyst in the Department of Tourism in January 2011.
She moved to DLP as a senior pensions officer in October 2014. Two years later, she was promoted to the position she now holds. Goring is known to go the extra mile in her role and can be counted on to deliver results, no matter the agenda, stated a press release.
Director of Labour and Pensions Bennard Ebanks acknowledged Goring’s contributions to the team. “She goes beyond to get the job done and gives the same dedication to customers and fellow employees alike,” he said. “Leticia is a real team player. She established an electronic newsletter to keep staff abreast of DLP news, and provides opportunities to recognise staff for stellar performance.”
Deputy Governor Franz Manderson added his praise. “This recognition symbolises and reinforces the values and standards that we expect all staff to exhibit,” he said. “Ms Goring serves as a role model for all Cayman Islands civil servants. She is described as energetic, courteous and impartial.”
He added that although Goring has a heavy workload ranging from preparing budgets to resolving customer complaints to responding to FOI complaints, she “performs her duties with a ‘can do attitude’. I am very proud of Ms Goring.”
