Will there be a bulk waste collection for all districts this year before the holiday season?
Auntie’s answer: Yes, the Department of Environmental Health (DEH) will once again be offering free collection of bulk waste items on Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman ahead of the holidays.
Here is the DEH calendar which provides pick-up dates for this service among its yearly events. I admit I had trouble finding it on my own and needed help from a DEH representative who sent me a link. I do think that the DEH should consider reorganising that bit of information so it is easier to access.
In addition, I was sent a flyer detailing the schedule as well as what is considered bulk waste, which you can find below. Note that the collection for North Side and East End has already begun and will finish Friday, 9 November.
I would also like to add that I find this yearly collection service a great help and applaud the department for undertaking this exercise.
