Record turnout for Chamber of Commerce Earth Day Clean-Up
(CNS): The Chamber of Commerce hosted its 18th annual Earth Day Islandwide Clean-up with well over 1,400 volunteers on Saturday 18 April. Starting at sunrise until 10:00 am, official said hundreds of people representing schools, businesses, church groups and other community organisations, worked throughout the day to cleanup Cayman’s roadsides and beaches.

‘Sea monster’ may be giant marine worm
(CNS): A mysterious looking sea creature caught just off the coast of Grand Cayman recently may be a giant marine worm, according to DoE experts. But because of the state of decomposition when the scientists received it, they are unable to say with certainty exactly what the odd looking marine animal is.
CWC wins rights to broadcast Rio Olympics
(CNS): Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) has clinched the rights to broadcast the Olympic Games next year across the region. LIME customers in Cayman will have access to broadcast coverage and officials said they will also provide a variety of live video feeds and data services across a number of media platforms.

Charity donates non-emergency transporter to HSA
(CNS): The hospital has received a new vehicle specially designed to transport its non-acute patients who are either wheelchair users or need mobility assistance, officials said. The newly designed Ford Transporter was donated by the Caring for Life Foundation (CFLF), the not-for-profit organisation created to raise cash to buy equipment for the HSA.
