Artwork added to permanent National Gallery collection
(CNS): The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (NGCI) has recently acquired two works of art, courtesy of Atlantic Star Ltd. The two pieces, by Maureen Andersen-Berry and Bendel Hydes, will join the National Gallery’s ever-growing permanent collection of more than 200 works of art.
National Gallery gifted artwork from the 1990s
(CNS): Artwork by well-known local painter John Broad has been donated to the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (NGCI) Permanent Collection. The acrylic on canvas titled “Over the Bridge” was gifted by Cassandra Greene, a long-time supporter of NGCI, and will join the gallery’s growing collection of more than 125 works of art.
Poinciana Festival ready to blossom
(CNS): The first-ever Poinciana Festival, held 27-31 January, proved a showcase of all things artistic in Cayman. The work of more than 100 musicians, filmmakers and artists were on display over the five days, and the festival culminated with a gala recognising 30 Poinciana Award winners.

(CNS): The Health Services Authority (HSA) observed World Cancer Day by hosting a local art exhibit at the chemotherapy unit. The event emphasised the importance of hope within the cancer journey. World Cancer Day, which is commemorated every year on 4 February, aims to unite the world in the fight against the global cancer epidemic.
