(CNS Local Life): Cayman Prep and High School students collected more than 1,725 books for LIFE (Literacy is for Everyone). Organised by the Key Club at the high school and led by the primary school student council, students were responsible for promoting this event on campus as well as assisting with book-drive logistics.

GT library adds to collection of books by local authors
(CNS): The George Town Library is in the process of putting together a permanent collection of works by local authors. Known as the Cayman Islands Collection, this will include cultural and historical material, and will be housed in the historical library section of the building currently being renovated.

East End Primary homes in on reading initiative
(CNS): East End Primary School inaugurated their Home Reading Programme last week, a literacy initiative fuelled by the purchase of more than 1,300 fiction and non-fiction books. Jessica Jackson, the school’s literacy coach and the programme’s initiator, stressed the importance of instilling a love of reading in children.
