YMCA offers camp for teens
(CNS Local Life): The YMCA is offering a Y Teen Challenge Camp next week aimed at young people aged 13-17. The half-day programme, from 5-9 August, aims to develop and strengthen leadership skills using experiential learning. Campers will participate in a variety of land- and water-based excursions.

Kids learn about cricket this summer
(CNS Local Life): Cayman Cricket last month ran a week-long camp enabling young people to participate in a number of cricket and sport-related activities. Along with hosting its own camp, the organisation has also taken the sport on the road, and integrated cricket into other multi-sport camp schedules in the Cayman Islands.
Kids learn about heritage at summer camp
(CNS Local Life): About 100 children have completed a four-week summer camp devoted to nature- and heritage-based arts and crafts activities. Jointly run by the National Trust and Art Nest Creative Studio, the camp, “Art of Nature”, was held at the Trust’s operational base in Dart Park on South Church Street.

Teens learn about sustainability
(CNS Local Life): The United World Colleges (UWC) Cayman Islands National Committee hosted its second local “short programme” 3-6 August 2017 to engage young people on sustainability issues. Eight residents, aged 14-16 and representing five different secondary schools in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, participated in the overnight summer camp, “Toward a Sustainable Future”.
