Governor backs DG’s 5K Challenge
(CNS): Deputy Governor Franz Manderson has presented Governor Helen Kilpatrick with a DG’s 5K Challenge T-shirt, as she adds her name to a growing list of public figures and local celebrities supporting the event. The list includes Miss Cayman Islands, Monyque Brooks; Cayman Islands Olympians, Ronald Forbes and Cydonie Mothersill; and Bermuda’s Minister of Health and Environment Jeanne Atherden who, on her recent visit to the Cayman Islands, also backed the cause.
Premier Alden McLaughlin and Deputy Premier Moses Kirkconnell participated in last Sunday’s (17 April) Brac Challenge.
The DG’s 5K Challenge aims to raise $50,000 to help Cayman Heart Fund in its drive to buy a new ambulance for the people of the Cayman Islands.
The Grand Cayman version takes place Sunday, 24 April, at 6:30am.
The final two days of registration are Thursday and Friday, 21 and 22 April, from 9am to 4pm, in the lobby of the Government Administration Building. Registration is $20 for adults (14 and older) and $10 for children (13 and younger).
