Acquisition of land by Smith Cove

| 09/02/2017 | 2 Comments

Now that 22 January has passed, can you please give the people an update on the Smith Cove land purchase?

Auntie’s answer: These are the kinds of questions I love to answer because I can pass along good news, without any caveats or ifs, ands or buts. Here goes: I checked on the progress of the purchase of the land with the Ministry of Planning and not only was the deal completed, it was done three days ahead of the deadline (see Government purchase of land by Smith Cove).

The official word is that the closing for the land occurred 19 January. The land-transfer forms have been signed and now the paperwork is with the Land Registry to complete the registration process, which usually takes a couple of weeks. But it is a done deal.

And all for the bargain price of CI$4,568,959.81.
