No Netflix on smart TV

| 13/10/2017

I bought a smart TV from a local discount store. It clearly said on the box that you could get Netflix as well as other streaming services like Hulu and Amazon on the TV, but when I got it home all I could get was YouTube. Netflix was simply not an option as an app. I tried for hours to see where I could download the Netflix app but no luck. Should I take it back to the store and get my money back. I am so disappointed!

Auntie’s answer: I have some good news for you if the problem is what I think it is, and this is going to be a short answer today. Go to the “Locations” section in settings and click on “USA” rather than “Other”. That should solve your problem and you should now find all the relevant apps, as advertised on the box.

Be aware though that not all the services are available outside the US. You cannot get Hulu here, for example.

Enjoy your TV!

One other note: This doesn’t mean I will be able to answer everyone’s techie questions as easily, but feel free to send them along. If your problem is too much for me, I will find someone who can help.

Roku and Slingbox work in Cayman as well.

Hope the solution works. But I cannot beleive that you thought that everything on a box manufacturered for the US market would work outside that country. If you shop this way then you are in for many such shocks.
