YMCA offers after-school programme
(CNS Local Life): The YMCA Cayman Islands is expanding its after-school programme to a new site at the Field of Dreams to coincide with the new academic year calendar. Available for students ages 5 to 12, the programme will provide a variety of active learning opportunities, designated homework time and recreational activities.
Character development, homework help, sports and recreation, healthy snacks, teambuilding exercises, STEM activities and creative arts will all be elements of the programme, stated a YMCA press release.
“The Field of Dreams after-school programme gives children a change of pace and scenery from that of the school environment, while still providing them with the opportunity to learn, stay active and make new friends,” said Jenny Stuesser, YMCA programme director.
Offered Monday to Friday, from 3pm to 6pm, the programme costs $12 per day without transportation and $15 with transportation from specific, nearby schools.
Registration, which is accepted on a monthly basis, takes place every Monday to Friday from 11am to 5pm at the Field of Dreams.
