Travellers get holiday cheer at airport
(CNS Local Life): Passengers travelling through the Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) received a holiday treat Saturday, 17 December as the Cayman Islands Airports Authority’s (CIAA) mascot, Calypso, “flew in” for a visit. In addition to passing out small holiday gift bags and keychains, the giant parrot also welcomed passengers and posed for pictures.

New CIAA mascot flies in for Valentine’s Day
(CNS): The new mascot of the Cayman Islands Airports Authority’s (CIAA) was on hand to offer Valentine’s greetings to travellers lining up at Owen Roberts International Airport. The six-foot-tall Cayman parrot named “Calypso”, CIAA’s latest customer-service and marketing initiative, took photos with passengers and received “high fives” as he made his way through the airport.

(CNS): The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA) recently hosted its yearly meeting on the issue of wildlife at Owen Roberts International Airport. According to the CIAA, wildlife is a major problem for airports around the world, costing the airline industry hundreds of millions of dollars each year in damage to aircraft.
Airports Authority staff support poppy appeal
(CNS): Staff members from the Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA) decided to do their part to give back to the veterans, with chief security officer Shane Bothwell, who is also a vet, dressing in his army uniform on Friday, 6 November, to pass out poppies to the airport staff.
