Celebrate Cayman memorabilia on sale
(CNS Local Life): As part of Celebrate Cayman, a yearlong initiative to mark the 60th anniversary of the Cayman Islands Coat of Arms, which was granted by Queen Elizabeth 14 May 1958, assorted memorabilia will be on sale starting next week. On Tuesday, 28 May, the items will be available from 11am to 2pm in the lobby of the Cayman Islands Government Administrative Building.
Sales will continue every Tuesday and Thursday throughout June, with items including umbrellas, neckties, bandanas, puzzles and mugs.
For the last year, the Celebrate Cayman team has organised various events commemorating the milestone including encouraging people to host “Beloved Table Dinners” to talk about their collective vision for the country and the well-being of all of those who call the Islands home, and the release of two mints of a 60th anniversary coin.
In addition, vestrymen and justices of the peace who were instrumental in getting into place the Coat of Arms for the Cayman Islands were honoured at the 2019 Heroes Day in January.
Still to come is the national campaign to encourage 60 acts of service over the weekend of 1-2 June, with residents and visitors across all three islands working to transform their communities.
